PS: You cannot uninstall WMP - it is an integral part of Vista OS. After much digging, I discovered that my browser (IE) requires Adobe flash Player ActiveX. The system returned: (22) Invalid argument The remote host or network may be down. No reboot needed.

This should open the Services manager panel. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. The only thing I can think of is something happened to my computer and now it says it does not have a genuine copy of windows on it.
