Solved: Norton Protected Recycle Bin
Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. It seems like most of the help or problems are about Ghost........ The recycle bin worked like it should after rebooting for about a day or 2 and then it started to have this problem. There are tons of listings under those 2 areas, but since this is a daily problem, I went back for a few days. If I didn't re enable the service, would Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. Use of the information constitutes acceptance for use in an AS IS condition.
My son does most of the maintenance type stuff for me. The options are set correctly in the recycle bin itself and also under settings for system works. Wired internet disconnects briefly... I did it again manually by hitting services and the one for the NPROTECT, however it is listed in Services.
Now if I connect the same device on other system, the virus is transferred, and the Anti Virus just sits and hatches eggs. Success always occurs in private and failure in full view. The only thing i have found about this folder is that it might be from other users on my computer. You can also delete all the Norton protected files AFAIK (they are not the real files, just references).

Although I'm not certain of the ID number for that since I don't use it.

I think the first time, he used a removal tool given to us by Norton Email support which didn't do the job right. That should empty the NPROTECT folder. glad things are resolved for you and all are deleted. It seems not too many people use System Works 12 any more, so I hope that it has been tested out also. We have released an update that will make the NProtect directory visible inside the Windows Recycler directory. Then it works as it should until the next reboot. How much use has the machine had since you deleted the item, and, in the time since you deleted it, have you performed any operating system updates, installed or removed any
I guess I will have to continue living with this problem until maybe the next System Works or whatever. or read our Welcome Guide to learn how to use this site. Since I'm not very puter literate and on in age, my son is the one who would have to do what may be necessary to do. The bin is not full either since I do empty it out throughout the day.
