They might be available through Windows Update too. Can I buy cheaper? Even with USB2 connection. I can't speak for the quality, but whether or not you use the video aspects, its worth a try at that price. I cannot hear the audio from the VHS tape on my computer, either when previewing or capturing.

It is very odd that it made VirtualDub crash like that - are you using the latest version of that too? It starts off at about a 1-2 second delay, but by the end of the full recording it's all the way at 5 seconds. Has anyone who has encountered this issue resolved it ? If it is DVD it will be unecessary.

It gets a lot worse using S-Video. There is no setup or special drivers needed.
