I am trying to avoid it, i know that stock CPU coolers are pre-applied with thermal paste so it saves you the hassel of having to put it on. The system idles (HT disabled) at 72ºC. I upgraded the BIOS from 2.0.4 to 2.0.6 and after following the final instructions for shut-down and unplugging the power, etc., when I started it I received the following BIOS errors: And if so, what kind of cooling, cases are you using?
my comp. I guess the tip here is if you get a heatsink with the thermistor included make sure to install it even if you think you won't use it. I am hoping to install a Core 2 Duo comparable to the E6600 that would have come with this machine.

I am assuming bad cooling fan however I have never had that message just a computer over heat. However, I had a bad surprise because, even though the fan and the heatsink fit perfectly in my Gigabyte GA-K8U-939 motherboard, the metal bracket to fix the lugs on the retention Nothing works. I replaced an old, faulty fan, and added a new one as well.
The motherboard function which triggers the cooler was damaged. This time - no prompt and no clue as to what I downloaded before. I have an intel mobo with the latest bios update.
